Out of Bounds Magazine was launched in late 2014 to cover the issues behind the games being played. The brainchild of founding editor Autumn A. Arnett, the publication (and supporting website) lands at the intersection of sports and politics, economics, social issues.
A lover of both sports and politics, Autumn thought a magazine that examines the serious side of sports, unpacks the “real” issues and draws solid correlations between the world of sports and “real life” would be enlightening. Why not develop a publication that truly demonstrated that sports are a microcosm of life? And with mainstream sports coverage increasingly drifting towards who’s wearing what and dating whom and the whereabouts of gnomes and other trinkets, what better time than now to actually get it done?
